TechnoSmart-Coding Club organised a Hands-on LINUX workshop from 12 September to 3 October on every Thursday. Workshop was taken care by four RHCSA certified students namely, Viral Natani, Hitika Ailani, Pravesh Bisaria, Aman Ojha, under the mentorship of Prof. Gireesh Kumar. Students were given brief introduction of LINUX and then approached towards advanced topics. In first lecture students were given detailed description of Installation of RHEL on virtual machine. They were told about how virtual machines work and introduced to topics such as virtualization, OS Kernel, containerization, dynamic memory allocation. On second day, they were exposed to hands-on training on basic Linux commands such as cat ,rm, grep, date, and concepts as, file creation, directory creation, file deletion, directory deletion, piping, user creation, user deletion, user password setting, directory traversing, root directory, pwd command, directory listing. In third lecture yum creation and Web server configuration was taught. It included installation of http package, yum configuration, starting and stopping a service, webpage deployment. On final day students learned and practiced networking concepts SSH and SCP. It included file transfer protocol and remote access of systems.
