JK Lakshmipat University organized its 8th National Level Sports fest “SPARDHA” during February 22- 24, 2019 to provide a platform to the students to showcase their proficiency in sports. Sports like, Cricket, Basketball, Volleyball, Football Kabaddi, Athletics (Shot Put, Long Jump, Cross Fit and 100 m Race) Table Tennis (single, double, team event), Chess, Carrom (singles, doubles) and LAN Gaming (PUBG, NFS, FIFA, COUNTER STRIKE) were the part of the annual sports fest of JK Lakshmipat University. The University received overwhelming response from around 45 institutions of Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh, Delhi, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra and Haryana with participation of more than 1300 students. Institutions such as GLA Mathura, Galgotia University, Amity University, Prestige institute of Management Gwalior, PEC, IIMT Delhi, Govt. college Ajmer, Mumbai University, LNMIIT, Manipal University Jaipur, MCC, JNVU Jodhpur, RIET, RCW, JEC, JNU, Arya College, SKIT, VIT, JECRC, Maharishi Arvind college, GIT, Jayoti Vidyapeeth, ICG, IIS university, UEM, JIT and Poornima University were the highlights with a dominating participation.
Mrs. Sapna Punia, Olympian & Former National Record Holder graced the event as the Chief Guest for the Inaugural function. She was accompanied with Mr. Anil Punia, Coach Indian Athletic Team as the guests of honor. Dr. Sanjay Goel, Director IET, JKLU welcomed the esteemed gathering and said that the objective of this program is to develop in the students a sporting spirit and provide a platform to display their physical strength. Honourable Chief Guest Mrs. Sapna Punia highlighted the Importance of sports in student’s life and thrown some light on the values taught by games such as team spirit, target achievement etc.
Guest of honour, Mr. Anil Punia said that a healthy balance of academics and extracurricular activities is a key to successful life. Thereafter, events of the day started and all the students actively participated in various events with full sportsman spirit. Attractive trophies and Cash prizes were awarded to all the winners and runners-up by Honorable Chief guest Mr. Dhananjay Tyagi, National level Karate player, Dr. R.L. Raina Vice chancellor JKLU, Dr. Sanjay Goel Director IET, Dr. Jayoti Prakash Naidu, Dean R&D and faculty members of the University in the Valedictory Session. Spardha ‘2019’ was coordinated by Prof. Devendra Bhavsar, Dr. Pushpendra Singh and Mr. Pankaj Pandey Sports Officer.
