A Safety Mock Drill and Safety Training Program was conducted at JKLU on October 8, 2021. The objectives of this program were to educate campus staff about first aid and CPR application in case of emergency, ensure that safety and health are integrated into work culture and lifestyle, review the emergency preparedness plan of the organization and evaluate standard operating procedure. There was a need to spread awareness on how to operate portable fire extinguishers, recognize and understand the importance of workplace hazards, know how to react in an emergency and know their safety-related rights and responsibilities at work. Practical demonstrations on Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR), Fire Extinguisher and Fire Drill were performed by Mr. Yogender Ahlawat, Training Manager at Securitas Security Services Pvt. Ltd. India with participants taking part in the evacuation, fire extinguishing and CPR exercises.  The program was coordinated by Dr. Jitendra Kumar Singh, Assistant Professor & Coordinator M.Tech. Health, Safety, and Environmental Engineering and Mr. Yogesh Nayar, Security Officer of JKLU.
