JKLU conferred the JKLU Laureate Award 2021 to Smt Arundhati Bhattacharya, former Chairperson of State Bank of India, for her exemplary contribution in governance and management in Banking and Finance and inspiring thousands of women across different walks of life. The event was organized on October 30, 2021 in virtual mode and was webcast live on YouTube and witnessed by hundreds of people online. Streaming of the event was also organized live in JKLU’s IM Amphitheatre, for those in campus. The programme started with lighting of the ceremonial lamp, followed by Saraswati Vandana, after which the Vice Chancellor welcomed the awardee and all dignitaries and guests. In his address, Shri Bharat Hari Singhania explained the significance of the Laureate Award and the annual lecture in the fond memory of JKLU’s Founder, Shri Hari Shankar Singhania and explained why Smt Bhattacharya was chosen for the award this year. Films on JKLU and Shri Hari Shankar Singhania were shown during the event. The Chancellor then gave away the glittering Trophy and a Citation was read out by Dr Sonal Jain, Master of Ceremony of the event, before she invited Smt Bhattacharya to give her Oration on “The Role of Digital – an Imperative for Business Resilience”, where she spoke about the role of digital transformation and resilience in the sustainability and success of today’s life and business. The programme ended with a Vote of Thanks by Dr Raghupati Singhania, followed by playing the National Anthem.
