Institute of Management, JKLU celebrated Management Guru Day in the honour and fond memory of Padma Shri Dr. Pritam Singh on his birth anniversary on November 19, 2020. The day-long event witnessed a series of activities that included a seminar on the theme “Creating Tomorrow’s Leaders” by Mr. Rajeev Dubey, Principal Advisor, Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd. During the seminar, Mr. Dubey shared that tomorrow’s business leaders will have to operate under a VUCA environment and will have increased pushback from all stakeholders. He added that all our strategies, structures, processes and behaviours should be driven by our very basic purpose of existence. This purpose should be well articulated and shared by all in the organization. Dr. Ashwini Sharma moderated the session while Dr. Punam Mishra proposed the Vote of Thanks. Highlight of the day was the felicitation of another management stalwart, Dr. Jagdish Sheth, The Charles H. Kellstadt Professor of Business at Emory University, who also delivered the First Dr. Pritam Singh Memorial address on the theme “Strategic Importance of India in the New World Order”. Dr. Jagdish Sheth was felicitated with a trophy and citation in a live webinar that witnessed over 1000 plus attendees across various platforms. Shri Bharat Hari Ji Singhania, Hon’ble Chancellor of the University welcomed the Chief Guest and blessed the audience with his inspiring words. Dr. R.L. Raina, Vice Chancellor of the University delivered the welcome address and briefed the audience about the Management Guru Day Celebrations. Mr. Asheesh Gupta, Pro Vice Chancellor of the University, introduced the Chief Guest, Dr. Jagdish Sheth and also read out the citation. This was followed by presentation of citation and trophy to the Chief Guest by Dr. Raina. Dr. Sheth then delivered the First Dr. Pritam Singh Memorial Address. In his address he explained why and how India can play a strategic role in the post COVID era. The function was also graced by Mr. Vikas Singh and Mr. Vipul Singh, sons of Dr. Pritam Singh who expressed their gratitude to the University in paying tribute to Dr. Pritam Singh in the most befitting manner. Master of the Ceremony was Ms. Yagya Tiwari, final year student of MBA programme, while vote of thanks was proposed by Dr. Ashwini Sharma.
