The main objective of Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering is to facilitate the students acquiring theoretical knowledge and realistic proficiency to meet the challenges in the field of Electronics and Communication Engineering and to undertake research works to develop products through Industry and Institution co-operation.

The Electronics & Communication Engineering department has Commendable Laboratories with requisite facilities to try out the practical applications with advanced and latest facilities in the field of Electronic Circuits, Digital Electronics, LIC, Digital Signal Processing, Modeling, simulation, Microprocessor, Micro controllers, Analog communication, Digital communication, Microwave Circuits and Devices, Electrical Machines,Industrial Electronics,Circuits and Systems, Engineering Materials, Linear and Non-linear Control Systems, Power System, Machines Drives, FACTs and High Voltage Engineering.. Seminars & Paper Presentations by eminent personalities on current trends and latest technologies are arranged to expand the awareness of our students. Conducting guest lectures, value added courses, staff seminars and student-seminars play a vital role in building up the knowledge.

The infrastructure and lab facilities are upgraded from time to time and provide adequate opportunities for students and researchers to learn and innovate. The department has distinguished faculty, all holding Master/Ph.D. degrees from renowned institutes in India. The faculty of the department has been constantly carrying out research on many cutting edge technologies.


The department is aimed at producing high quality engineers in the field electronics and communications engineering (ECE), well equipped to take up the challenges in this highly upbeat branch. Students will be developing their foundation skills in the basic sciences and engineering courses before moving on to take up the core courses in Electrical, Electronics and Communications Engineering. They will also be taking up a number of concurrent professional development courses in various areas, such as languages, humanities, social sciences and management, enabling them to excel in their branch of specialization.

Lab Facilities

The Department ensures cutting edge laboratories with latest hardware and software bundle in each lab, where students gain the experience needed to help meet the growing demand of professionals

This is the basics lab for all branches of B.Tech Here students interact with various theorems, machines, and networks. They get the basic skill to operate & control the electrical machines. This lab is fully equipped with equipment like motors, generator (both A.C and D.C), and transformer, all measuring instruments (voltmeters, ammeters, wattmeter, and energy meter), rheostats, capacitors, and inductors to conduct the experiments.

This laboratory is equipped with MATLAB software. In this lab, students simulate circuit problems on MATLAB. Some of the problems addressed are; interconnection of two port networks, resonance network theorems, RL/RC circuit, T and Pi network, and home electrical wiring training system.

Chemical Reaction Engineering Lab is setup to understand the processing of basic reactors normally used in chemical industries. Students learn about different types of reactors, CSTR, RTD Studies in CSTR, RTD studies in a plug flow reactor and in packed bed reactors.

The course introduces students to the fundamental control systems theory with an emphasis on design and implement. The lab focuses on technical implementation issues of classical control theory in the frequency domain and modern control theory in the state- space. Here students learn the various control methods, which are being used in the industries now-a-days.

In this Lab, students get to work on much efficient software like MATLAB and Virtual labs. Virtual labs provide a complete Learning Management System where the students can avail various tools for learning, including additional web-resources, video-lectures, animated demonstrations, and self – evaluation.

In this Lab, Simpower System is used for modeling and analysis of Electrical Machine, FACTS devices and Load flow Methods.

Protective relaying is a vital part of any electrical power system; unnecessary during normal operation but very important during emergencies, faults, and abnormal disturbances. Power system Laboratory comprises protection, simulation, high voltage and machine related experiments. Facilities are available for over – current, under – voltage, directional, differential and distance relays including different numerical relays.

This lab includes learning of power semiconductor devices like IGBTs, Power MOSFETs, trigger circuits, Thyristor converters, DC chopper modules, pulse transformers and other related commutating components.

This lab emphasizes on the knowledge of working, measuring controlling and testing of various AC/DC machines.

In this laboratory characterization of electronic devices and design & analysis of Analog circuits are done. The laboratory consists of Digital Storage Oscilloscopes, function generators. power supplies and facility of fabrication of single layer Printed Circuit Boards.

This laboratory provides Hands-on experience in designing and implementation of digital logic circuits and systems. The laboratory is equipped with Field Programmable Logic Arrays and Digital Integrated Circuits.

This laboratory provides Hands-on experience in designing projects on Internet of Things. The laboratory is equipped with IoT Boards from Texas Instruments and Broadcom Inc.

The objective of this lab is to understand the basic communication technique and perform them on kits/ breadboard to consolidate basic knowledge in Analog Communication. This will cover the AM, FM, PM, Noise and various forms of these modulation methods.

The objective of this lab is to understand the advanced digital communication techniques and perform them on kits/ breadboard to consolidate basic knowledge in digital communication. This will cover the ASK, PSK, FSK, probability of error, noise, CDMA, FDMA and various other methods.

The purpose is to introduce the various digital signal processing techniques using MATLAB environment. The lab has more than 30 numbers of computers along with latest version of MATLAB which is a user friendly tool for the students.

The knowledge of MATLAB software enables the students to design a digital filter of required specifications
