Prof. Sanjay Goel, Director of the Institute of Engineering and Technology, is a progressive education leader who has been passionately engaged in developing, demonstrating, and leading new models of engineering education for many years. He is an alumnus of BITS Pilani and IIT Delhi.
He has more than 35 years of professional experience at different organizations in various roles – Programmer at National Informatics Centre, Faculty of computer engineering at Delhi University, Project Manager and Director of Multimedia at Indira Gandhi National Centre for the Arts, and HoD of computer science at Jaypee Institute of Information Technology. He has also been a visiting faculty at Delhi College of Engineering, Delhi and IMT, Ghaziabad. His professional interests include computer graphics, computer vision, multimedia, cultural informatics, engineering education, learning technology, and human aspects of software engineering. With a multidisciplinary educational and professional background, he enjoys the interdisciplinary scholarship of integrating IT with a variety of contexts and human activities.
Prof. Goel started teaching computer engineering students at Delhi University’s
Delhi Institute of Technology (now known as Netaji Subhash University of Technology) in 1988. Since then, thousands of his students are working at several leading international and Indian companies including Google, Facebook, Intel, Adobe, Microsoft, Xerox, Amazon, Dreamworks, Capgemini, Infosys, Wipro, TCS, Aricent, Flipkart, Grofers,
etc., and also a very large number of new generation ventures. Hundreds of his students have founded and are successfully running their own companies both in India and abroad.
