B.Des. Programmes

Future Ready Specialization

The 4-year programme in Product Design is a blend of both people-centric and technology driven curriculum. It will help in building a new brand of individualistic product designers who enjoy creating with their hands and yet comfortable leveraging new age technology.
The 4-year programme in Interaction Design will be unique and relevant to the millennial generation. This programme aims to cater to the new, hard-wired, device-friendly, young audiences that are as comfortable in the virtual world, as they are in the real world.
The 4-year programme in open-ended Interdisciplinary Design programme is for exploratory students who are both capable and independent. They would be equipped with contemporary practises and will be at ease with craft products as well as IoT products.



  • Minimum 50% aggregate marks (45% for SC/ST Candidates), from a recognized Central/State Board/University Examination in India or in any foreign country recognized as equivalent to 10+2 system by the Association of Indian Universities (AIU).
  • Students appearing in the final examination of 10+2 may also apply.
  • The applicants are required to appear in one of the national level design admission tests, such as UCEED or NID DAT. In case the candidate has not taken any national level design tests, they will have to appear in the JKLU Design Entrance Test (DET) to qualify for the programme.


Selection of a student at JKLU will be finalised after a series of evaluative steps.


Submission of the application form with required details. Non-refundable application fee of Rs 600 to be paid.


Situation test and interview with the JKLU admissions team, provided the student meets the eligibility criteria.


Merit-based assessment of candidates, focusing on attitude and aptitude, to help them benefit from the unique learning experience at JKLU.

  • One-time caution money of Rs 10,000 payable along with first year’s fees.
  • *The above fee will be subject to an increase of up to 8% in every consecutive year.

Transport fee of Rs 15,000 to be paid every semester if the student wishes to avail the JKLU transport facility from Jaipur city to JKLU campus on specified routes.

  • The above-mentioned fee as applicable to citizens of India and SAARC Countries.
  • Hostel charges are on annual basis.
  • Hostel charges are for one academic year and the students are not allowed to leave the hostel during the semester.
  • Hostel fee, as above, is applicable to all boarding students.
  • Hostel rooms are on twin sharing basis. Hostel charges are subject to yearly revision.


MERIT SCHOLARSHIPS (Second year onwards)

The top 10% students, who have obtained CGPA of 9.0 and above in a programme, are awarded a scholarship equivalent to 75% of the tuition fee.

Next 10% of the students, who have obtained CGPA of 8.0 and above but less than 9.0 in a programme are awarded scholarship equivalent to 50% of the tuition fee.


A limited number of merit-cum-means scholarships, equivalent to 25% of the tuition fees are awarded to students whose parental income is below Rs 3 lakhs per annum and who obtain a CGPA of 7.0 and above.


The university also offers opportunities for on-campus assistantships and part-time jobs to exceptional students.
