Inauguration of Centre for Communication and Critical Thinking

Today, JK Lakshmipat University launched a new Center dedicated to developing effective communication and critical thinking in the students of the University. The University is making a break from the traditional approaches followed at most Universities in India and is adopting best practices from Ivy League and top Universities in the world by bringing into the curriculum those competencies and courses which contribute to professional success universally. 
The Center, which will use latest approaches, tools and methodologies to help students develop these skills, was inaugurated by Dr. R.L. Raina the Vice Chancellor of JKLU in the presence of Ms. Shreyasi Singh, journalist, author and former editor of Indian edition of Inc., the iconic global publication on entrepreneurship. She is the author of “The Wealth Wallahs”, the recent best-seller on India’s first-generation wealth creators.  Ms. Singh, who has taught at various institutions and is passionate about higher education, also conducted the inaugural session of the course on Critical Thinking for first year Engineering students of JKLU. The Center for Communication & Critical Thinking will offer courses to JKLU students across all years of graduate and undergraduate study. Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Raina said, “Establishing the Center is an important step and one of the several innovations in our move to a contemporary and outcome focussed curriculum at JKLU. Higher education is transforming around the world and we are working to leapfrog and adopt world-class approaches that offer students not only what is best in India but best in the world.”
According to Mr. Asheesh Gupta, Pro Vice Chancellor of JKLU who has been involved with driving several transformational initiatives in higher education in India, “Our emphasis on leveraging technology to break boundaries of learning, offering inter-disciplinary courses and programs at undergraduate level and embedding themes such as AI, Automation and Design thinking in core curriculum is aimed at giving our students a world-class education in India”.
